ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) is rumored to have been recently plundered by a drug trafficking group of 3.2 tons of gold, valued at about US$200 million.

Chinese media quoted Zijin Mining's director secretary as saying that Colombia is a place where illegal mining is extremely rampant, and the group's core area in the Colombian mine is still in its own hands. It mined more than 8 tons last year, and has completed its task so far this year. Its mine remains unaffected, but the peripheral area may pose the risk of pirated mining.

ZIJIN MINING last traded at $14.44, down 3.6%, with 37.985 million shares traded, involving $555 million.
