Chinese regulator has asked China's biggest insurers to report on their financial exposure to CHINA VANKE (02202.HK), in an effort to assess how much support it needs to avoid default, Bloomberg quoted sources as saying.

The review, which began several weeks ago, involves an assessment on CHINA VANKE's bond issues and holdings of private debt, according to the report. Earlier this month, two insurers that outsource their annuity investments also notified their external portfolio managers to review their exposure to CHINA VANKE.
