China's Ministry of Commerce, along with seven other departments, jointly issued the "Notice on the 2025 Car Trade-In Program", which specifies that this year, individual consumers who scrap gasoline passenger vehicles (PVs) registered before June 30, 2012, diesel and other fuel PVs registered before June 30, 2014, or new energy PVs registered before December 31, 2018, and purchase eligible models, can receive a one-time fixed subsidy.

For those scrapping old cars and buying new energy PVs, a subsidy of RMB20,000 will be provided, while a subsidy of RMB15,000 will be given to those scrapping fuel PVs and purchasing fuel PVs with a displacement of 2.0 liters or less. Each individual consumer can enjoy the car trade-in subsidy only once within the year.
