MIIT Predicts Toy Retail Sales in CN to Total RMB100B+ This Yr

At today's (19th) press conference, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed that the domestic toy retail sales reached RMB97.85 billion in 2024, marking a 25.5% increase from 2020, while toy exports (over 40% of products exported to the US and EU) amounted to USD39.87 billion, a 19.1% growth from 2020. According to relevant agency estimates, the total domestic toy retail sales in China will exceed RMB100 billion in 2025. In addition, the MIIT stressed that the toy market, led by blind boxes and figurines that contain emotional and collectible value, has been surging in recent years.
