Despite ongoing industry restrictions imposed by the US, China's leading chip manufacturers are striving to double the output of advanced semiconductors with strong support from the Chinese government, aiming to meet the rising demand from domestic AI chip developers, according to foreign media.

According to insiders, SMIC (00981.HK), HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) and several chip manufacturers associated with Huawei are working to expand or initiate the production of chips using the most advanced technologies domestically, involving 7-nanometer and 5-nanometer processes.
