<Budget>Tax Concession for First Registration of Private EVs to Expire at End-Mar; No Further Extension

The market is keeping tabs on whether the tax exemption for electric vehicles (EVs) under the "one-for-one" scheme will be extended. Financial Secretary Paul Chan stated while delivering his Budget that considering the current maturity of private EV technology, sufficient supply, increased model options, and gradually decreasing prices, private EVs have become competitive in the market.
